Springbok Cottage

Named after the Springbok, a medium-sized antelope with long legs and distinctive white and brown markings. It can reach speeds of up to 100km/h and most probably gets its name from the joyous bouts of repeated high leaps into the air of up to 2 m (6 ft 7 in). It is mostly active around dawn and dusk and browses on leafy shrubs, wild flowers, seeds and young succulents and it may occasionally switch to grazing grass. It meets its water needs through its diet and therefore hardly ever drinks any water over the course of its life.
